Indigenous First Steps
Welcome to Indigenous First Steps, our maternity and pediatric program developed to ensure and protect the first milestones of Indigenous health and culture. This program provides CHW and peer to peer support to parents, families and children from pregnancy to 3 years post-partum, reflecting on our cultural resilience and reliance on nature to nurture. Parents gain knowledge and skills to achieve the highest levels of development for themselves as parents and for their children in the areas of physical, cognitive, environmental, social-emotional, language learning, and self-help.
